    3 pillars of Groupe Nduom

The Groupe Nduom conglomerate of businesses has attributed its rapid progress and sterling performance over the years to the exceptional commitment to duty and hard work of the more-than 4,500 Ghanaians working in the various companies nationwide.

Over the years, the group said the staff have made results their watch-word, which has translated into the strong growth and progress that the subsidiaries post on annual basis.

The quest for results by the staff and management is anchored on the group's guiding Biblical verses – 2 Timothy 1:7 and Jeremiah 29:11 – which encourage believers of the Christian faith to eschew timidity but be loving, self-discipline and believe in the ability of the Almighty God to make them prosperous.

The Head of Learning and Development at Groupe Nduom, Ms Makafui Gbedemah, said over the years, the group had lived by these tenets and that has translated into the enthusiasm and discipline with which it serves customers and the loyalty the staff has for the group.

“For us at Groupe Nduom, we always strive to serve our customers with enthusiasm, innovation and discipline. For the company, we serve with loyalty,” she told the Graphic Business at Elmina in the Central Region, where management executives of the various subsidiaries concluded a mid-year retreat and review session.

The event is a biannual one by the group, which is owned by Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom and his wife, Mrs Yvonne Nduom. It gives the executives the opportunity to take stock and match targets against performance in the first six months of the year while strategising for the remaining half.

This year's session was graced by Dr and Mrs Nduom, who double as the President and Senior Vice President of the group respectively. The group currently has over 15 subsidiaries

    Earn your bonus

Ms Gbedemah said the group's decision to make God, staff and customers the pillars of its operation had paid off, leading to the strong progress of the various subsidiaries from small to medium and further up to the statuses of large entities, where they are now contributing in diverse ways to the economic transformation of the country.

In recognition of these worthy contributions, Ms Gbedemah said priority is always given to the welfare of staff at management levels.
The same, she said applied to the customers of the various subsidiaries, whose loyalty and commitment had kept the group going.

“For us, three things matter and they are the reason for our existence; these are God, staff and customers. There won't be Groupe Nduom without them," she said.

She thus advised staff to continue strive hard to attain results, explaining that gone were the days when bonuses were paid across board, including to staffs of companies that do not deserve them.

“This time, it has to be earned. If you work hard and it becomes results, results, results, then the company will reward you but if you don't achieve results, then we cannot use investment monies to reward you,” she said.

    Seek favour from God

At a thanksgiving mass, Dr Nduom commended the staff for their dedication to duty and admonished them to continue to work hard for the sustenance of the business and their source of living.

He advised them not to lose sight of God in their daily endeavours, explaining that only Him could give life and wealth.
